Cookies

A cookie consists of a piece of text sent by a web server to a web browser, and stored by the browser. The information is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server. This enables the web server to identify and track the web browser.

Cookies can be used by web servers to identity and track users as they navigate different pages on a website and to identify users returning to a website.

Cookies may be either “persistent” cookies or “session” cookies.

A persistent cookie consists of a text file sent by a web server to a web browser, which will be stored by the browser and will remain valid until its set expiry date (unless deleted by the user before the expiry date).

A session cookie, on the other hand, will expire at the end of the user session, when the web browser is closed.

The Rail Trolley Trust website does generate and place Cookies on your browser.

The Trust's website generates a number of SESSION Cookies, all of which are essential to the basic operation of the website and all of which will be automatically removed from your Browser once you have closed the Browser.

In addition, when you visit the Trust's site you will be asked to confirm you wish Cookies to be AALLOWED. This process generates a PERSISTENT Cookie that is retained on your Browser for 12 months fromt he date you fist set it (by clicking Allow). On the relevant day, the PERSISTENT is auto-deleted (once you close the Browser or Tab) and the Trust's site will ask you to Decline or Allow Cookies to be placed on your Browser (and another 12 month period will start. If you click DECLINE, you may find you cannot use the Trust's website at all or as it was intended.

Please Note that just moving to another site within your web browser will not destroy the Cookie, you have to close your web broswer to completely destroy the Cookie.

In addition, many of the sites the Trust's website provides links to may use Cookies and they will, indivually, be applying the law and providing information for the web browser user (you).

The Rail Trolley Trust is committed to safeguarding the privacy of its website visitors; this policy sets out how we will treat your personal information.

(1) What information do we collect?
We may collect, store and use the following kinds of personal information:
(a) any information that you choose to send to us via our Contact form including (but not limited to) your name, your email address and your phone number.

(2) Using your personal information
Personal information submitted to us via this website will be used for the purposes specified in this privacy policy or in relevant parts of the website.

We may use your personal information to:
(a) send you general (non-marketing) commercial communications;
(b) send you email notifications which you have specifically requested;
(c) deal with enquiries and complaints made by or about you relating to the website.

We will not without your express consent provide your personal information to any third parties for the purpose of direct marketing.

(3) Disclosures
We may disclose information about you to any of our employees, officers, agents, suppliers or subcontractors insofar as reasonably necessary for the purposes as set out in this privacy policy.

In addition, we may disclose your personal information:
(a) to the extent that we are required to do so by law;
(b) in connection with any legal proceedings or prospective legal proceedings;
(c) in order to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights (including providing information to others for the purposes of fraud prevention and reducing credit risk);
(d) to the purchaser (or prospective purchaser) of any business or asset that we are (or are contemplating) selling; and
(e) to any person who we reasonably believe may apply to a court or other competent authority for disclosure of that personal information where, in our reasonable opinion, such court or authority would be reasonably likely to order disclosure of that personal information.

Except as provided in this privacy policy, we will not provide your information to third parties.

(4) International data transfers
The Trust's website data is all stored within the United Kingdom. Your personal data may also be stored on computer equipement owned by The Trust, it's Director's and its employees and/or agents. Whilst normally all of these people are resident in the UK, your data may travel with them on mobile devices and may, at time be taken outside the UK.

(5) Third party websites
The website contains links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of third party websites.
