Rail Trolley Run Off Rails

Whilst Tim Warner was in the North Yorkshire area collecting the Dismantled Trailer from Fylingdales Service Station area, he diverted to the New Bridge Permanent Way Yard on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway to collect a pair of Run Off Rails for a Rail Trolley which the NYMR had kindly agreed to donate to the Trust in 2022.
These items were delivered to Stainmore Railway Company’s Kirby Stephen East Station site, where the Trust already has a few items on loan and Tim has his own Wickham Type 17A Trolley (Works No. 7610).
The Railway have been restoring two original Trolley sheds which they rescued from the local area. One had been used as domestic garage. These have been fully refurbished and restored over the last few years and are now being rebuilt on site.
Working with the Railway and their Kirkby Stephen East Signalling Project, we hope to be able to display and demonstrate Trolley signalling, off tracking and associated operating procedures.
Fund Raising
The Trust has recently launched a significant public fundraising appeal to raise a minimum of £10k and hopefully nearer £20k. This funding will be used to move more of our collection to our two secure locations, provide further suitable storage accommodation for some of our older & more historic vehicles and make some significant progress on several important restoration projects.
