Track Maintenance Systems
The Georg Robel File Factory, Munich, Bavaria, Germany was taken over by Karl Langkammerer in 1901 and the revised company started to make hand-operated rail track construction machines.
By the 1920s, Robel was a major name in railway track screw fittings, securely fastening the rails to the sleepers.
Following WW2, Robel went on to develop a range of self-propelled rail machines for both construction and track maintenance including rail loading trains, tampers and mobile workshops, which they are distributing throughout Europe.
In 1989 the company premises in Munich literally reach their limits – Robel starts to gradually move all its divisions to the railway town of Freilassing, creating a purpose-built facility for both its manufacturing & its service operational base and from 1999, the business became known as ROBEL Bahnbaumaschinen GmbH, now employing around 500 people.
